Biswa Singha was the founder of Jalpesh Temple in the year 1524. Later the king had rebuilt the temple in 1563. Again after 100 years, Pran Narayan king rebuilds this temple in 1563.

This famous temple of Dooars is one of the oldest temples of this region. It has a religious as well as a historical significance. This temple was built to dedicate Jatileshwar or Lord Shiva which is under the protection of Archaeological Survey in India.
